Heparin Exported From China Recalled Once Again!

Posted by: dianej on: March 8, 2008

Germany, like America, recalled Heparin due to allergic reactions (the U.S.A. has reported 19 deaths and hundreds of allergic reactions related to Heparin made in China). Reported in the NY TIMES (3/8/08) German authorities identified two plants in China, both officials in the sales departments of the plants said they were no aware of problems in Germany. The Heparin was manufactured for Rotexmedica and worldwide recall as been issued.

Much of the worlds Heparin products come out of China, where pigs are used for the raw material.  Last year a pig disease  swept throughout China, lessening livestock and sick pigs may have been sold to manufactures. This might be one reason for the problems that are popping up. This is a serious issue.
