As an independent voter and a former liberal card carrying voter I am surprised at my reaction to Senator Obama. I first started out thinking I might vote for him if Hillary did not get the nod but the more I read and the more knowledge I acquired I realized I could not vote for him, despite the fact that if some of his social programs pass I would benefit from them. I don’t make over $250,000 dollars so his tax plan would not hurt me and I do not own property, and I do not have a small business.
I’d like to see an end to the war but I realize we can not just pull-out – it might save us money and life but it would be morally wrong in my opinion. Pull out of Iraq to go into Afganistan and Pakistan. I don’t know – it is like the board game I use to play a child with my sister and friends called RISK.
I struggled a long time with the fact that part of me wanted to vote for Senator Obama……..I got past a lot of stuff but I always came back to – I can not vote for Senator Obama because It is my believe his roots are planted in the left. Is this in itself bad? Not sure really. I think down the road for our country it would change dramatically and I really don’t want to see this happen. I know it would take YEARS but the seeds will be planted if Senator Obama is elected and he just might be. Seems the country with the help of the left wing and mainstream media is turning left. Again, imore and more- is this bad? I really am not sure.
I will tell you what I don’t like. I don’t like the Obama thug tatics that I have read about. I feel there has been measures to hush people who don’t like Obama. MichelleMalkin.com had several pieces on this topic, if you go to her site put in the words ObamaThugsand read what comes up. I also know of websites that were blocked-out and/or hacked. I read reports of people being threatened. The most recent story is about a women who had two federal agents show up at her door and asked her if she said, “I will never support Obamaandhe will wind up dead on a hospital floor.” The woman in question said that her words were twisted. According to the woman the following took place (per michelle malkin’s site) “She asked if I was an Obama supporter, to which I replied, ‘No, I don’t support him. Your guy is a socialist who voted four times in the state Senate to let little babies die in hospital closets; I think you should find something better to do with your time.’ (And then) I hung up.”
I will tell you something else I don’t like – when asked about Bill Ayers, Senator Obama kind of said it is just a guy who lives in the neighbourhood. That might be true but they worked together. By Senator Obamanot saying we worked together it made me not trust him. I also don’t like the fact he was associated with ACORN, a radical left group. I also am not too crazy about Rev. Wright (1 degree away from Farrakhan) and the Catholic priest, I forgot his name. I also don’t like all the talk about Rezko, Auchi, al Monsour, Raschid Khalidi. I also don’t like that he was involved in politics over in Kenya. I don’t like the fact so many left-wing organizations support Obama.
I also don’t like Senator Obama’s stand on abortions. When I discovered his views this was the turning point for me. I realized at that point I would not vote for him. Now I don’t hate the guy and a lot of what he says I like but for the most part I can not trust him. For awhile there I think I came close to intense disliking of Michelle Obama but she grew on me. As I said in the past if Obama is elected ( and I think he will be elected ) I will support the office of President and pray every day for our country. Perhaps, I am missing the boat and Senator Obama will be the very best President this country has seen. I sure hope so. I know I will benefit from his health insurance plan if it ever comes into being.
A few more things I don’t like – kids being pimped-out to sing Obama songs. Reminds me of dictatorships. I also hate the Obama hand sign, Hitler had the same sign. Creepy, no? What is next, Uniforms? I also don’t like the fact we have not seen the birth certificate- does Senator Obamahave dual citizenship? And there is a lot of blame to go-around for the economy. I don’t like Bush taking the blame, both parties were involved, as well as, global corporate greed and people who lived beyond their means.
Again, let me clearly state this blog is just my opinion. Read my user/disclaimer segment on my home page. My vote will go to John McCain. I hope he wins, however, if he does not win I will support the office of President and pray for him and our country to do well.
