HISTORY IN THE MAKING: WHY I AM PROUD TO BE AMERICAN

I arrived 5:40am to submit my vote for John McCain and not to  my surprise most the people on line with me were voting for Obama. I did not vote for Obama but I felt so very proud that he was running. Imagine an African-American running for President! I was second on line – the first a man who was so excited about the election stayed up all night – he said he felt like he was back in college. LOL. A friend neighbour joined me on line and next an African-American man joined the line and he was so very happy. You could see it – You could feel it. It touched me. Usually he said he was first online so I said take my spot you can at least be second and next – the man who was first thanked me and said yes, take my spot you can keep your tradition and be FIRST. We waited about 40 minutes. We marched in and after the African-American voted he came over and shook my hand and I said HISTORY WAS MADE TODAY. I tell you – I felt so happy for him – I felt so happy for our country. I thought to myself here is a man in his 60s maybe early 70s and I bet he never thought this possible in his lifetime. Really, it was a very moving experience for me.  I pray that God Keeps our next President safe. I think Senator Obama will get in and I just pray to God he and his family are safe. I really worry for him and his family. I love the two little girls and Michelle really grew on me with the passing of time. Maybe, I am wrong and my candidate will get in……..time will tell but I do know both men are brave souls. Here is michellemalkin’s story of the day.
