Time will tell if the Ft. Hood shooter is a terrorist or mentally ill or perhaps a little bit of both. I feel so much sadness for the 13 people who were murdered by Hasan. This was the worst terror attack in America since 911 in my opinion. Yes, I think he has mental illness but I truly believe there was an element of TERRORISM mixed-in. What say you? Major Hasan shouted the words, “Allah Akbar” prior to his vile actions. Weapons were acquired, allegedly he closed down his apartment and gave his belongings and passing out holy books ( according to his neighbors).
The MSM is saying he has post-traumatic stress, I ask you how can this be the man never went to war? Serious Allegations (that appear to be true in my opinion): Hasan did not want to go to war, argued with Vets in Walter Reed against the war, tried to convert soldiers to Islam and posted blogs supporting suicide bombings.
ABC news has a blog worth reading, Attack on Fort Hood: Faces of the Victims. Today, I discovered that there might be a connection between the Fort Hood Terrorist and the 911 attack. Go to atlasshrugs.com to read more or click here.
Please note: I did hear abc news speak about all the issues invovled in this case so maybe the msm is covering it properly.
I think he was a terrorist that was obsessed with making a final statement. His upcoming deployment finally pushed him to that point. I doubt he was mentally ill, but all his oars weren’t hitting the water for sure. Damn shame the innocents paid for his action. I think Islam and the American way of life is not compatible in that; not that we aren’t tolerant of them, we are…their religion will not tolerate living in harmony with us or anyone considered an infidel.

He was mentally ill – had a psychotic episode.

Dear Steve,
As always thank you for your comment. Yes, (we) “infidels” are at risk and we need to remember this. They (radical Islamics) are at war with us. This is the hard reality of our time. This of course is just my opinion.

Dear John,
Gosh, I always wanted to write “Dear John.” Thanks for your comment. I too think there was a touch of mental illness but I also think he a radical. Just my opinion.

Hassan’s actions evidence a knowing, premeditated mind with the mental capacity required for conviction. Whether he had some character defect or stress does not relieve him (or anyone else) from responsibility. He is a domestic terrorist under Sec. 802 of the Patriot Act, and a first degree murderer and terrorist under the Texas Penal Code.

Dear Pat,
Thank you for your comment. I am feeling very sad right now – the service at Fort Hood was very moving.
