Being anti-Israel does not disqualify one from becoming and anti-Semite "czar." One of my heroes, Marek Edelman, was strong anti-Zionist, yet he fought for the Jewish people, and stood up to racism of any kind. Our opinions on Israel differed, but if it were possible, he would have been a brilliant anti-Semitism watchdog. Being anti-Israel (and that's not really true in this case, as they are just arguing over Israeli policies) is not the same as being an anti-Semite. One is politics, the other, racism. Sure a lot of anti-Semites use Israel as an excuse for their hatred, but still, not the same thing. Why would it sound crazy?
